or to vote for this car or leave a comment

Offered for sale in St. Louis, Missouri is a 1967 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller, also referred to as the Estate Wagon, that is beautifully finished in classic Black with a Cherokee Red Vinyl interior, with features to include an Old English White grill, wheels, and pinstripe. It is further accented with a red pinstripe on the body and wheels. The exterior wood framework is believed to be mostly original and very nicely refinished during restoration. A very sharp combination! Under the hood of this Morris classic lies the correct 1098cc Series V 4-cylinder OHV engine with single SU carburetion, mated to the 4-speed transmission with correct finned alloy case. Features include heater/defroster, dual fender-mounted rearview mirrors, windshield washer, electric wipers, fold down rear seat, 90 mph speedometer, turn signal switch with correct green flasher bulb at the tip, barn door style rear entry; and chrome bumpers, door handles, hood hinges, gas cap, and exhaust tip! Our available Morris Minor Traveller retains it's all original Triplex window glass, spare tire stowed at the rear with jack.

This particular example features a few upgrades to further enhance the enjoyment of cruising around town. These include slightly larger 175/70R14 radial tires, giving superior road grip and attentive maneuvering, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD audio system with Bluetooth technology for hands-free mobile phone usage, and fully insulated interior cabin with FatMat material underneath the carpeting.

This is an extremely beautiful Traveller, about the nicest I've ever seen but I see no mention of seat belts, without which this car would for us be essentially unusable, except for trailering to shows. Even lap belts only would keep Mrs. O. from coming along. I know this is a real problem for those who prefer their cars to be reflective of the time of their origin, but the realities of modern traffic are what they are, and must either be dealt with or the car relegated to show use only.

At this time, it is not equipped with seat belts. Although I am certain some lap belts can be fitted with minimal effort if you prefer some added security. We have the service center here onsite to perform this task. It may have provisions for a shoulder mount as well to use a 3-point version. I would have to investigate further. Lap belts are easy, three-point hard I did install a set on a '60 Falcon 4-door, and wound up writing a how-to article for the club newsletter. The important thing is the position of the B-pillar relative to the front seatback, and how large (and strong) it is. On the 4-door Minors it's too far forward, or so I've observed (and I have been known to be wrong, once or twice). I do know that older Minis have been fitted with them, and those pillars are pretty slim. The Falcon had to take cinch'em-up belts, having no place for an inertia reel; the Minor could have the same problem.

It has officially sold, sorry you missed it. It recently made the trek to Canada to a proud new owner.
