Did you wash & wax your classic Alfa Romeo GTA, GTV, GTV6, Giulia, Spider, or Giulietta today, or drive somewhere scenic?
Fire it up for the first time after a rebuild or make an in-car or drive-by video?
Maybe it's just a nice day and you feel like using that fancy new camera...

This is my new GTV. I love it as the interior is all original and still has that distinctive GTV smell. Still lots of work to be done before I'm satisfied.

Looks great in white, Bill!
What's left to be done? Mechanical?

Skye,
Thanks for the kind words. I've had several GTVs but all were red, I really wanted a white one and searched for years. This is the best I've found and I paid absolutely top of the market for it.

Mechanically the cat is in pretty good nick, except got a rear main seal (I think) and slightly high CO readings. Body wise is as good as you're ever going to see. No rust ever that I can see, it was a CA car from first. All of the spot welds are original.

The interior is original and needs restiched but still has that unique GTV smell.

The real problem is the PO, in good faith, sent it out for a repaint. Perhaps the budget was $7,000 at least that's what the bill was. It was an engine and glass out job. But what a mess!

First they used clear coat, and didn't bother to clear over the base in the engine compartment. Then they got overspray on the interior stainless surround by the door gasket. All the small trim and rubber bits they took off are missing, and they screwed up the doors and 1/4 windows. The doors will hardly shut. And there's white paint over the entire undercarriage. And they polished through the paint in several areas.

We live in Northern Colorado so service isn't everywhere. This winter I'm taking it to Karens at Alfa West in Denver and we'll pull the engine and mechanical bits. I'm going to pull the trim bits.

We have a great paint shop in Berthoud and they'll pull the glass and the doors. Strip it down and repaint.

It's more than I wanted to do, but I wanted one one last GTV. We sold our perfect 993 and Lloyd's old Bracken MGB GT to get the funds and the space for it.

Devil's always in the details!
It seems to be hard to get any job done right, that's why I usually end up doing it myself.
