I have a leaky rear axle seal on my 67 Duetto.
I need instructions on how to remove and replace the real axle to replace the seal.
I have the ATE brakes and the parking brake plate seems to be in the way of removing the axle, as it sits between the axle end and the tube.
Any suggestions on rigging a puller to get the shaft out?
When seal is replaced is the shaft just banged back in?
Also What is actually holding the axle in place?

Thank for any instructions.

John

Hello,

I did this job several years ago. I borrowed an axel puller from AutoZone (a refundable deposit is the only cost) and followed the instructions. It was easy.

Yes, the shaft is just gently hammered (gently) back in.

Thanks
I got it out but that sure would have been easier
